Overview

QuickPar is a freeware program that is widely used in the Usenet community. If a file is somehow damaged or corrupted during transfer that file or group of damaged file can be recovered easily if the included “PAR” files were included.

Testing

Using the files left over from the WinRAR Creation Test, we are going to build a redundant set of PAR files. For this test we will be a 30% redundancy group.

Ater opening QuickPar you can go to the options menu and set your program to look like ours. When you are finished hit OK then close QuickPar.

Next highlight the six Windows XP files that we left from the WinRAR Creation Test. Right click and then you will see an area for QuickPar. Click that.

This is the window that will open next. Move the Redundancy slider to 30.04% and hit the Create button located on the bottom right.

This is the screen that will appear next. let the test complete fully.

When your test completes that is the screen that you will see. We will be measuring our scores in time and not MB/s.

If all of your test was completed correctly your folder should look like this.
