Up until now our main focus when it came to CPU cooling has been on the mid to high user segment of the market. But what about all those who just want to replace their stock CPU cooler with something a little better, or those who buy a new OEM CPU and want to buy a good but cheap cooler? Almost every single company that offers a CPU cooler line in the market has models ranging from low-end to high-end, depending on the usage, but only a handful really offer cheap and good solutions. AVC is one of them and today we will be testing their Napoleon CPU cooler which not only promises to outperform the stock Intel CPU cooler but it also comes with a extremely low price tag that should attract many buyers.
AVC is a Taiwan based company which was established in 1991. They are currently the OEM supplier for many major companies in the field but they also sell their products under their own brand name. Their manufacturing plant has several production lines for a variety of cooling systems such as CPU coolers, fans, notebook coolers, cases, power supplies and many more.
The AVC Napoleon is a medium size CPU cooler designed after the tower or U-type design. It features three heatpipes, a copper base and a 92mm PWM LED fan that is sandwiched between two fin heatsinks. The Sandwich design has been seen in many high end CPU coolers such as the V8 by CoolerMaster but up until now i did not expect it to make an appearance on a low-end CPU cooler. Also worth mentioning is that the Napoleon is manufactured in several different versions that support every socket in the market from the LGA775, AM2 to the LGA1366. There are also different fan covers, Blue, Black and Crystal. The Napoleon really looks a lot promising so let us head to the rest of the review and see how well it did.
