INTRODUCTION

Usually i never get impressed by the looks of a CPU Cooler, mostly because the designs in the market are based in two configurations, the Tower configuration also known as U-Type to some people and the C-Type configuration.  Now out of all of the many coolers i have ever reviewed all of them were designed based on these two configurations with the U-Type configuration being far more usual. And right when i thought that things would never change and i would keep reviewing CPU Coolers based on the same design Thermaltake comes along to sweep me off my feet with their latest CPU Cooler, the SpinQ which although is mostly based on the C-Type design its design is something i have never seen before.

Since the beginning of Thermaltake in 1999, it has been at the forefront of creating new and exciting products at a time where most computer users were provided little to no choices for components that may seem irrelevant, but in reality crucial to the performance of a PC. Thermaltake Server Series solutions, with years of thermal experience and industry leadership, sets its goal on reforming total thermal management in server segment by formulating the perfect mixture of versatility, efficiency and thermal management with each respective server product category: Rackmount Chassis, Server Fixed & Redundant Power Supply and Server CPU Cooling Management Solutions. With its comprehensive line of products available, it enables Thermaltake's core customers to enjoy a one-stop-shop experience, reduce product design-in evaluation period and most important of all, flawless integration process. Each of Thermaltake's strengths enables its customer to focus on their core business while taking advantage of the skills and efficiency of a single thermal management solution partner.

The SpinQ CPU Cooler by ThermalTake comes ready with a LGA1366 mounting kit and so the test will be done on an i7 920 system and as a sole competitor i will throw the UFO51 by GlacialTech since it is the only other unit i have in my hands with a LGA1366 mounting kit. The overall design of the SpinQ makes people think it is a CPU cooler based only on its looks but i really doubt that a company like Thermaltake did a mistake like that and so it is time to move to the main segment of the review and see what this cooler is really capable of.
