INTRODUCTION

The market seems to have a vast number of options to choose from when it comes to CPU coolers. There are numerous manufacturers adding their own special touches to them, but as i have mentioned many times before lately most of the designs follow a common trend and that is to implement heatpipes in a tower configuration. This way is by no means a bad idea and most of the times it results in good CPU Coolers however we will see no breakthroughs in CPU cooling if most companies keep following the same design. Luckily before the end of this year we will see a few new design CPU coolers that are bound to change the way things are done and might as well open a new door into the CPU cooling performance area. It has been a short while since i did a CPU cooler review and during that time a new player came into town. The word is about Thermolab and their BARAM CPU Cooler.
Thermolab was founded in 2003 and ever since then they have been growing by inventing cooling devices for a variety of usages such as in computer systems. Their solutions are considered innovative and high in quality and that is the reason behind their success and growth. Although Thermolab is mostly known in ASIA they are expanding their business to other places such as the EU.
The BARAM CPU Cooler resembles the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme in many ways and if it performs the same this is perhaps going to be the surprise of 2009. What really stands out is the weird heatpipe / fins configuration and the new type mounting system both of which i have only seen in Thermolabs solution. Will they make a difference when it comes to performance is something i can't tell. One thing however is certain and that is that this is a very big and good looking cooler. In any case let’s head forward and see how well it performs.
