             Last week i heard that the downloadable pay per movie content has risen since last year by almost double and so more and more companies start to join provide movies through download. Needless to say that generally speaking the high definition movie downloads have increased as well, whether this is through official channels or unofficial ones. Due to that trend many companies started manufacturing standalone multimedia players to cover the needs of people who wish to playback downloaded movies onto their LCD. Plasma, Projector screens. We have reviewed quite a few solutions of the short but until now we never had the chance to test a device made by one of the few companies in the field that started the standalone multimedia trend. I am talking of course about Popcorn Hour.

 

 

 

             Popcorn Hour is a subsidiary of Syabas Technology leading software and middleware solution provider in wired / wireless Digital Home as well as Digital Signage applications. Their goal since the beginning has been to to bring end-users, enthusiasts and professionals the latest cutting-edge Digital Media Streaming products and allow them to easily purchase them from the comfort of their house via direct online purchasing.

 

 

                

            Since it is the first time we have a device to review from popcorn hour we wanted it to be something nice and so today we will be reviewing the popcorn hour A-110 Network Media Player that also comes bundled with their WN-100 WiFiN wireless USB adapter. Just like most high end standalone multimedia players out there the A-110 is also based on the Sigmadesigns 8635 chipset and so both image and sound are expected to be of the highest in quality. However there are more in a multimedia player than just the performance and we are here to cover all of those things.
