Diamond HC500C PlugnView Remote Home Monitoring Camera Review

Home security is extremely important, which is a lesson I just recently had to relearn. As a computer hardware reviewer I get packages shipped to me on a regular basis, but I can’t always be home to answer the door when FedEx or UPS arrives. Often the sender of the package requires a signature and the package safely go back to the warehouse to be delivered the next day. Too many times though a package that is filled with valuable computer hardware is just left at my front door where it will sit until I get home.
One such package that was left at my front door a few months ago went missing and the contents inside were worth nearly $200. Needless to say this is something neither I nor a hardware manufacturer wants to hear, but there were steps I could have taken to prevent this from happening. One such step would be to install a security camera at with a clear view of my front door. This is really the only surefire way to know what happens when you are away and if I had a camera installed that day I might have been able to recover the missing hardware.
The Diamond Multimedia Home monitor camera would have been an ideal solution to have setup that day, as this device is a security camera that can be remotely viewed over the internet any time of day from a Smart Phone, tablet, laptop, or any PC connected to the net. The camera also has scheduled recording so I could have set it up to recorded while I was away and a quick look at my Smart Phone could have shown me if the package was safe at the door, or not.
Of course, hindsight is 20/20, but I can tell you that I feel much more secure now knowing I have this camera setup at my front door to record the activity when I am away.
