INTRODUCTION

Owning a good power supply for your computer system is like having a great power system installed into your car in order to allow for many speakers to play simultaneously and for your car to be able to run in optimal state. The necessity of clean and stable power has been explained again and again not only be myself in the vast number of power supplies that i have reviewed in the past but also by many others in the field. So the only real question that remains is what power supply should one purchase. There is a great number of power supplies out there, some from unknown companies to many, yet great companies in the field for all those who know, some from very known and trusted companies, which many of them trust the first to make their power supplies and finally some by no name manufacturers. The clear answer is to always avoid no name power supplies since that way you avoid risking your entire system. The second part of the question is what wattage one should buy since there are power supplies from 250W to 1500W in the market as we speak. The answer to that is also simple and it involves only knowing what you want it for. If you wish to have a power supply for a small HTPC system then even 450-550W will suffice whereas if you want to power a SLi, Crossfire system you need at least 750-850W of power. For those few enthusiasts however who are into Quad SLi or Crossfire a power supply of 1200W is a must.

Seventeam was founded in 1986 and is based in Taipei, Taiwan. Ever since their insertion to the market they have produced quality solutions and have grown to a point when they currently have instant sale and logistics network in major countries around the world. With almost 23 years of expertise Seventeam has become one of the leading power supply manufacturing companies in the world. Their power supplies feature high performance, high watts and high stability while at the same time are quiet and energy smart. Their power supply line of products includes power supply for PC and for customized units for IPC (for industrial and server uses). Their solutions are currently used by various global leading partners in system integration. The second unit by Seventeam which i have on my test system today is the Thundering ST-1200E-AF Power Supply.

The Thundering ST-1200E-AF can feed a system with 1200W of power and that alone is reason enough to see that this solution is oriented towards enthusiasts and gamers. The quality of this unit is even higher than the one found in the V-Force ST-850-AF power supply while the overall design is flawless. What remains is to see just how well their flagship performs although after the impressive performance of their 850W variant i am sure i will not be disappointed.
