The AMD Radeon HD 7790 is one hell of a graphics card for its price. This is due to the card being based on the award-winning GCN Architecture, which is built on a 28nm GPU design and comes packed with incredible features, like automatic overclocking via AMD PowerTune technology, ultra-resolution gaming with AMD Eyefinity technology and DirectX 11.1 support. So, for a graphics card that costs just $149, this card offers a lot without demanding the same premium as high-end graphics cards.
We have already examined a few different Radeon HD 7790 graphics cards from multiple manufacturers, but it is Sapphire on the chopping block this time. What makes the Sapphire model different from the other cards we have looked at is it comes with the companies Dual-X thermal design, which uses multiple heatpipes and a large fin array with two aerofoil section fans and dust repelling bearings resulting in a highly efficient and reliable cooler.
The Sapphire model also comes with a faster than average GPU core that is overclocked to 1075MHz, and the card also features a 1GB GDDR5 frame buffer that is factory overclocked to 1600MHz (6.4GB/s effective), which gives the Sapphire model more memory bandwidth in comparison to graphics cards running the stock specifications.
