Evercool Buffalo CPU Cooler
Cases and Cooling

Fan speeds are set to 100% for testing. To record the load temperatures I will be using a combination of two programs. Firstly RealTemp will be used to monitor the temperature of the CPU, while Prime95 will be run for 10 minutes on the ‘small fft length’. To find the idle temperature Prime95 will be closed and the computer left to sit for a further 20 minutes. The Ambient temperature is 18c, and the thermal compound used is Arctic Ceramique (No burn-in time required). To help give you more of an idea of how well the cooler is performing, I will compare it to the Intel Stock cooler and a rival heat pipe cooler, the Arctic Cooling – Freezer 7 Pro.
Considering that this cooler only has 2 heat pipes as opposed to 3 that the Freezer 7 Pro has, the results are very impressive. I wasn’t expecting this cooler to perform anywhere near as well as the AC Freezer 7 pro, but it has actually managed a lower idle temperature and come very close on the load too! This cooler wouldn’t have any problem cooling a quad core CPU at a reasonable overclock, and has plenty of headroom to push the limits of a fast dual core.
