Introduction
After taking a look at the Arctic MC101 just a month ago, I wasn’t sure myself there would be anything in the near future that would have the power to compete with it, in the same market. Much to my surprise only 3 weeks later I received the press release for the Giada i53 Mini PC. While looking over the specs of this Mini PC I was immediately taken back by the potential of this unit, if configured correctly.
Today we have a full on review of a properly configured unit, with an Ivy Bridge Core i5 3317U operating at 1.7Ghz – Turbo up to 2.3Ghz, 4GB of DDR3 and a 500GB HDD. Graphics of this machine are controlled by Intel’s HD4000 Graphics Processor that is on-die with the CPU.
One thing that amazes me – and I’m sure will amaze you as well, is the size of this unit. It is literally no bigger than a paper back novel, and yet packs some very impressive specifications. So how about we get into this review and see how it stacks up in the Mini PC and HTPC market.
