INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    Although the latest certification to hit the market is the 80Plus Platinum one (with the 80Plus Titanium next) we haven't really seen that many power supply units to hit the market. Instead most of the well-known manufacturers focus in the manufacture of less expensive units with the more mainstream 80Plus silver and bronze certifications which are naturally aimed towards the main segment of the market. NZXT is amongst those manufacturers and so shortly after their HALE90 80Plus Gold certified line of PSUs they introduced the HALE82 80Plus Bronze certified line which includes 650/750 and 850W units. Today we will be taking a look at the 850W variant which should be more than enough to power systems with dual mGPU graphics cards.

    Some of you may be quite skeptical about buying an PSU by NZXT since they are not well known in that are but you really shouldn't since NZXT is not really the manufacturer of their PSU lines (the same as many more companies in the market). More specifically the HALE90 80Plus Gold power supplies are manufactured by the well-respected Super Flower while the HALE82 line is manufactured by the quite amazing Seasonic so you can really expect top notch quality and performance from the HALE units. True that may change in the future but if it does we will be amongst the first to report it. Since we are here however to test the latest HALE82 80Plus Gold Certified power supply unit let's see just how well it does.
