INTRODUCTION

Although when i play games, listen to music or watch a movie (providing i find time to do that) i always use my regular 5.1 speaker systems there are certain times when that is quite impossible and so i have no other choice but to use a headset. Now during all my years i have used and reviewed countless headsets from much about every company in the market but less than a handful of those were actually based on real 5.1/7.1 systems mainly due to the extensive production costs of such units. Today’s World Wide first review is about such a headset and more specifically the latest revision of the award winning TRITTON AX Pro True 5.1 Surround Headset by Mad Catz.
TRITTON was founded in 2000 and has since evolved and transformed into a brand that is recognized worldwide. Best known for our critically acclaimed high performance gaming Headsets and USB External Video Card Technology. In 2010, Tritton was acquired by Mad Catz Interactive. The Tritton brand has focused extensively on developing industry leading headsets for all gaming platforms including an exclusive range for the Xbox 360. Tritton performance headsets are available globally. TRITTON is focused on developing, manufacturing, and bringing to market high-performance gaming headsets and audio peripherals. Striving to create innovative and reliable products with cutting edge technology, the Tritton is the brand of choice for professional and casual gamers world-wide.
If you've been reading our reviews or you are into computer hardware and peripherals you will have probably heard of TRITTON before since their AX Pro 5.1 Surround Headset became a hit when released roughly 3 years ago back in 2008. Because of that huge success TRITTON/Mad Catz decided to upgrade the AX Pro instead of releasing a new model by using an entirely new digital decoder, new in-line volume controller and by giving you the ability to use the headset with PC, XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 systems right from the box. Compared to the original AX Pro the new version is far more complete and better looking (digital decoder) but does it sound just as good or better? We really hope so.
