INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    Just by taking a quick look at sales numbers for Security related systems such as IP Cameras it's not that hard to figure out that people have begun taking the matter of their safety seriously lately and for me that is a great thing. I mean let's face it, times are hard and they are only going to get harder and so having a good 24/7 security system at home is a must, although i sincerely hope no one needs to actually make use of it. Anyways for the past 6 months I’ve received far too many IP camera models for both indoor and outdoor use which i have done my best to put through various conditions in order to simulate real and lengthy use. Of course that takes time and that's the reason behind the slow review process of such units. So today i am bringing yet another IP Camera review on the table surrounding the latest Zavio F531 outdoor unit.

    A while back i promised to start working mostly on outdoor IP camera solutions so after bringing you the review of the Zavio F3106 indoor IP Camera today we will be taking a look at their F531 outdoor unit which as opposed to the F3106 features an external IP66 resistant housing mostly suited for people who are mostly interested in securing exterior places with harsh conditions. Of course the housing is not vandal proof as with other models like the Trendnet TV-IP322P we reviewed a while back but the difference in price is so large that no one would expect as much in the first place. That aside the F531 features a maximum resolution of 640x480 @ 30fps, night vision mode up to 15 meters, two way audio  and the same user friendly software provided by Zavio.
