INTRODUCTION

With most households owning more than just 1 car (most households here have 2) and with most people spending an average of 2 hours per day in them i am very surprised to see that most people don't really care about having an hands-free kit in their cars in order to not only make their lives easier and safer but also to avoid any issues with the law. Personally i can't even begin to count the number of hands-free earsets and car kits i have used for the past 12 years but i never leave home without one since i put safety first. The last time we reviewed a hands-free car speakerphone it was quite a few months back and the device was the latest Jabra Cruiser 2 which proved to be quite an excellent unit although it lacked the necessary volume level people with convertible cars required. As an answer to that Jabra has released the FREEWAY in-car speakerphone and we are here to take it for a ride.

GN Netcom, led by the Jabra brand, continues to build on its standing as one of the world’s leading and fastest growing suppliers of hands-free communications solutions. With approximately 875 employees and sales offices around the world, GN Netcom develops manufactures and markets a broad range of wireless headsets for mobile users and both wireless and corded headsets for contact center and office-based users. GN Netcom’s business activities also include its original equipment manufacturing (OEM) business to a wide range of global customers including mobile phone, PC and PDA manufacturers.

The brand new FREEWAY Bluetooth in-car speakerphone features 3 speakers for rich, crisp and virtual surround sound, two noise reduction microphones, motion sensor (detects when you are in the car), voice commands (if supported by your cellular phone), voice feedback, multiuse functionality (connects with up to two cellular phones) and A2DP audio streaming. Judging by the features alone the Jabra Freeway seems to be the ideal choice not only for people who spend many hours in their cars but for people who put safety above all else. Still since features alone aren't enough to pick a product let’s take a closer look at the latest Jabra offering.
