INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    I always thought (still do) that being a hardcore gamer ment having a very good, if not the best graphics card around, a large TFT screen, a very good soundcard and a very good set of speakers. With this in mind i got my first 5.1 surround system tailored for my PC back in 1998 when the first DVD players got released as well. Now after 12 years i have used a total of 7 surround sound systems two of which were all-in-one sets manufactured by legendary companies in the field such as Creative Labs (Digital 5700) and Logitech (Z-5500). Today we will be taking a look at such a surround system which as the title clearly states is the latest Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z906.

    The Z-5500 5.1 surround system by Logitech has been around for over 6 years during which not only did it win countless awards around the globe but it also became the best-selling unit of its kind and so it was quite natural for Logitech to announce its successor. This was expected by many people around the world for the past 2 years and finally a few months ago Logitech announced the availability of the Z906 surround speaker system. Much like its predecessor the Z906 system features a massive total of 500RMS of power, THX certification and 6 audio outputs for you to connect all your devices on. However compared to the Z-5500 the Z906 set does come with a smaller subwoofer and somewhat less impressive materials used. But let's take a closer look to see exactly what i mean.
