INTRODUCTION

The most well-known way to clone a disk drive onto another disk drive (HDD/SSD) is by using bootable CD cloning software such as the Acronis suite which companies like Kingston pack with their SSDs. This is quite an efficient way but that means that the user needs to have some idea on how to open the tower, install both drives, boot with the CD and start the cloning procedure. True to most of us here this this should not take more than just a few minutes but for most people out there this could prove extremely hard to do. Because of that several companies in the field have launched portable HDD cloning devices and today we have such a unit with us and namely the latest Hard Disk Cloner by Sandberg.

Sandberg A/S is a Danish company with a clear ideology: We want to make it easier to get hold of computer accessories. Everyone should be able to find the right accessories in the shop and get them to work once they've got them home without the need for specialist knowledge. The basic idea of Sandberg wanting to make things easier for both consumers and dealers has imbued the spirit of everything that Sandberg has done since 1985, when the company was founded by the two brothers Martin Hollerup and Erling Hoff Petersen.

Now what i really liked about the Hard Disk Cloner by Sandberg is that you can actually use it both as an HDD cloning station but also as a normal docking station for your HDDs. But that's not all and so you can also clone drives without having to plug the unit with your PC. Design wise i don't expect the Hard Disk Cloner to win any competition any time soon but as you will also see later on it's not half as bad as other similar units in the market and most importantly it gets the job done, although not as fast as we would like.
