INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

     With ambient temperatures currently reaching 36 degrees Celsius (44 in August) where i live it's quite obvious that most CPU Coolers including the stock Intel/AMD ones (naturally) will have more than just a hard time keeping even stock systems running stable. Of course with such ambient temperatures during the summer period even the best Air Cooler will have its hands full but if it's a really good one things should be much easier and better for you system. With the delay of the much anticipated Intel X79 based mainboards it seems that our huge LGA1366 CPU Cooler database will keep on going for quite a few more months and so today we will be adding the one more and more specifically the latest offering by Thermalright which listens to the name Macho HR-02.

 

 

      Thermalright is an elite design house that manufactures cooling products for computer components for the best quality and performance your money can buy. In 2002, AMD released its first generation Thunderbird CPU and since then we have been there every step of the way to counter high voltage and high heat with innovative design and highly acclaimed cooling solutions not only for AMD but for Intel as well. With many positive and rave reviews under its belt Thermalright bolted to the top as the heat sink manufacturer mostly preferred by Overclockers and enthusiasts around the World. To this day, innovation never left our vocabulary as we keep coming up with leading edge designs staying ahead of the competition.

 

 

    As clearly (ok not so much) stated by the name of the product the latest Macho HR-02 is nothing more than an TY-140 140mm PWM fan mounted on an HR-02 heatsink. Many months ago we placed the standalone HR-02 cooler to the test which in turn produced very good numbers especially when paired with an high RPM 120mm fan so today I am very curious to see how well it will do when paired with the almost silent TY-140 since although 140mm in size and thus larger than the one we used back then it is still an low-RPM unit with silent running as its primary goal.
