INTRODUCTION

Back in the days all of us were happy by just using the plain earphone sets that came bundled with our Walkman’s or portable CD players. Of course that was quite a long time ago and although sometimes i do miss the simple things we had back then i have to admit that today things are much better and so there's practically a limitless amount of earphones and headphones in the market for one to choose from. Most of the times we focus on virtual surround headsets aimed at movie fans and gamers alike, today however we will be taking a look at rather plain stereo headset aimed mostly towards people who just enjoy listening to music while on the road or at home.

Sandberg A/S is a Danish company with a clear ideology: We want to make it easier to get hold of computer accessories. Everyone should be able to find the right accessories in the shop and get them to work once they've got them home without the need for specialist knowledge. The basic idea of Sandberg wanting to make things easier for both consumers and dealers has imbued the spirit of everything that Sandberg has done since 1985, when the company was founded by the two brothers Martin Hollerup and Erling Hoff Petersen.

The product on our test table today is the StreetBlaster Stereo Headset by Sandberg which for just a stereo headset comes with two very nice features rarely seen in this segment of the market. First of all it comes wearing massive 57mm speaker drivers (quite impressive considering that most similar units still come with 50mm ones) which should produce clearer sound and more powerful bass and it also comes with two different cables, the plain one most stereo headsets come with and another one with a built-in microphone which should come quite handy for video calls and online gaming. But let’s take a closer look to see exactly what I’m talking about.
