INTRODUCTION

Yesterday we brought you a review of what may be the fastest Tri-Channel 1600MHz 12GB memory kit in the market as we speak the SNIPER CL7 kit by GSkill. Fortunately by the end of the month we will have two or more Tri-Channel reviews since we managed to secure quite a few of the latest X58 compatible kits by most companies in the field and so today we will be taking a look at the latest VIPER Xtreme 6GB 1600MHz CL8 kit by Patriot Memory.

Established in 1985, Patriot Memory builds a full range of memory module and flash memory products, offering a perfect blend of quality and value. Patriot products include Extreme Performance (EP), Signature Lines (SL) and Flash Memory solutions (FM). Commitment, focus on innovation in technology, product quality, and customer satisfaction are the key enablers of our future success. Patriot's development and manufacturing facility are located in Fremont, California USA and Taipei, Taiwan.  Our manufacturing segment is composed of a highly skilled production staff and multiple production lines optimized for modules, giving Patriot the ability and resources necessary to provide a full line of memory module solutions. We understand the value of designing and responding quickly and intelligently to the rapid changes inherent in the memory module industry.  This commitment to R&D enables us to deliver the best quality memory modules powered by the latest innovative technology.

Usually when we have more than 2 samples of the same base product we prefer doing roundups/comparisons than standalone reviews but that seems to make it harder for some of you to track down specific product reviews and because of that we will be doing roundups/comparisons only on rare occasions. Moving back to the review the VIPER Xtreme 6GB 1600MHz CL8 kit was as expected a bit slower than the previously reviewed GSkill kit but that aside it does offer a very nice balance between price and performance which should satisfy casual users and regular gamers. Since however numbers do all the talk in such reviews let's move forward and see just how good the latest Patriot Memory kit really is.
