INTRODUCTION

It seems that our LGA1366 database will keep going for quite a few more months more since the X68 mainboards are not scheduled until Q4 2011 and so today true to our promise we will be taking a look at one of the latest and perhaps best CPU Coolers in the market. As many of you know we haven't had many Xigmatek solutions lately and mainly because of that today we decided to bring you a review of their latest High End CPU Cooler the Aegir SD128264.

Xigmatek is based in Augsburg, Germany and was founded in 2005.   They also have major outposts in Taiwan, Japan, and the United States.  Xigmatek boasts one of the world’s most efficient manufacturing operations and offers a wide variety of products to consumers.  Mostly known for their high quality CPU and GPU coolers, Xigmatek also offers a wide variety of fans, cases, power supplies, and other computer accessories.  Xigmatek’s philosophy is summed up on their website with the acronym ICE:
-Impressive:  Xigmatek holds its belief to be an impressive products provider.  How long do you not obtain an impressive product and be touched in mind?  Xigmatek learns the technical and experience not only in the thermal industry, but other industry also to provide impressive products to customers.
-Creative:  Xigmatek reminds itself that without creativity, there is no power in the company.  Regarding this, Xigmatek has a team of over twenty R&D engineers, product designers and technical people.
-Essential: Xigmatek believes itself to be an essential company.  They know the importance of an essential product, excellent quality, good performance, in time service and product durability.

Xigmatek has always named their solutions after Mythological gods and creatures in general so the latest Aegir did not take its name randomly. According to Old Norse mythology the giant Aegir was the god of the ocean and king of all sea creatures so Xigmatek is obviously telling us that their newest CPU Cooler is just as powerful, in terms of cooling efficiency of course. On the other hand however its size is not what i would call gigantic so i am quite curious as to what kind of performance it can deliver so let's not waste any more time and head to the rest of the review.
