INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    Although one really has to accept the fact that Notebooks and Netbooks are really convenient and allow us to carry our work anyplace we go they do come with quite a few drawbacks including relatively small LCD screens with high response times, short battery life and weak speaker systems. That even applies for both of my Toshiba Qosmio notebooks which come with one of the best speaker systems i have ever seen (heard) on a laptop. So what happens when someone wants more audio power but at the same time requires extreme portability and battery life? The Ferox portable stereo speaker system by Razer could be the answer to that question.

 

 

    Razer collaborates with gamers to develop, manufacture and market cutting-edge gaming peripherals utilizing proprietary technologies that give gamers the competitive edge. We reinvented the computer gaming industry by bringing this competitive edge to gamers when professional computer gaming was in its infancy. In the mid-90s, with the advent of networked gaming and competitive first-person-shooter (FPS) games, gamers found that their legacy peripherals were inhibiting rather than enhancing their gameplay.

 

 

    Now the really good thing about the Ferox speaker set is that you can actually use it with just about any device that has a headphone mini-jack like MP3/4 players, consoles, portable DVD players, netbooks and notebooks. The downside is that they don't feature Bluetooth connectivity but there are quite a few hands-free adapters in the market (SONY makes at least one) that feature Bluetooth connectivity, microphone and also feature a mini-jack to connect your favorite earphones or speakers. That aside the Ferox speakers look like small pods (aren't really larger than regular eggs) and really look quite stylish especially when the top end rises up.
