INTRODUCTION

Each day that goes by there's always a company that tries something new and innovative to further improve on something we have been using like forever. It happened with CPU Coolers, PC cases, graphics/sound cards, keyboards, mouse units, power supplies, storage units and generally with everything else in the computer industry. Modem/Routers also changed through the years achieving greater speeds, longer wireless range and greater signal stability but there aren't really many companies in that particular field that did something really smart when it comes simplifying their use. TRENDnet is amongst these few companies and their latest TEW-673GRU 300Mbps Dual Band Wireless N Gigabit Router is proof of that.
TRENDnet is a global provider of award winning networking solutions to small and medium size business and home users. Based in Torrance, California, TRENDnet maintains branch offices in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Central America, South America, and Asia. TRENDnet’s management system is ISO 9001:2008 certified (click here to view certificate). TRENDnet emphasizes continual improvement as an essential component of its quality management system. TRENDnet's 250-plus product portfolio is distributed in over 125 countries. The TRENDnet brand is consistently recognized for high quality, exceptional performance and professional support.
The TRENDnet TEW-673GRU features concurrent Dual Band radios, 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (4 LAN/ 1 WAN), and a cool looking LCD on the top from which you can check the current status of the unit without having to enter the web interface. The TEW-673GRU is also the only wireless router currently in the market featuring two USB ports on which you can connect external storage devices or printers. However unlike the previously reviewed TEW-672GR the TEW-673GRU comes with two wireless antennas instead of three and although the unit looks better with just two i can't help but to wonder if that choice by the people over at TRENDnet had any negative impact in its wireless range performance.
