INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    Just like video/image quality is important to some people audio quality is even more important to others but in the quest to find the best earphones, headphones or speakers one needs to spend countless hours checking every available solution in the market by a vast number of companies claiming to manufacture just the right product for you. Now unlike most people who automatically go after products made by the usual brands for the masses i like to scout for products made by smaller yet more quality oriented brands which as their target audience they have everyone who just wants the best no matter the cost. Thinksound is amongst those premium quality companies and today we will be taking a look at their ts02+mic earphone set.

 

 

    Thinksound™ was founded by Aaron Fournier and Mike Tunney, who met while working for Tivoli Audio. At Tivoli Audio, Aaron was an audio engineer, and Mike was the creative director. The duo then collaborated on the launch of Sapphire Audio, where Aaron had the opportunity to work with industry legend Cary Christie (cofounder of Infinity and founder of Artison). Following that, Aaron was a Project Leader at Consumers Union, the publisher of Consumer Reports Magazine. His experience in reviewing and testing audio equipment is vital to the strict quality control process at thinksound. After serving as Director of Engineering and Chief Sound Engineer at V-MODA, where he voiced and helped design some of the best-selling headphones on the market, Aaron re-teamed with Mike and began developing what would eventually become the first two products offered by thinksound, rain and ts01 in-ear headphones. With the firm belief that our products should be designed and manufactured responsibly, without sacrificing quality or price, thinksound was launched. Clear sound with a clearer conscience is what we believe in.

 

 

    The housing of the thinksound TS02+Mic is made by wood and they come in two color flavors, Silver Cherry and Chocolate Black which is also the color of the unit with us today. As some of you already know wood produces warmer sound than plastic or aluminum and that is one of the reasons thinksound decided on going with that solution. The other of course is their eco-friendly policy since both the earphones and their package are made by renewable materials making them quite unique. But since we are talking about earphones let's move forward and see how well they do in the audio reproduction department.
