INTRODUCTION

Due to the imminent arrival of the latest Sandy Bridge processor units by Intel our LGA1366 CPU Cooler database based on the superb Core i7 is drawing to its end. Still in an effort to keep it running as much as possible, mainly since it happens to be the largest LGA1366 CPU Cooler database online we made the decision to switch onto the new Sandy Bridge database only when the high end mainboards based on the X68 chipset reach our hands and not with the arrival of the mainstream P67 boards. That aside as the title says today with us we have the latest Zalman high end CPU Cooler the CNPS9900 Max and since Christmas is only 10 days away this will be one of the last CPU Cooler reviews of 2010.
Zalman Tech co.,Ltd. was founded in 1999 and introduced to the computer industry the concept of 'Noiseless computing'. In a world filled with noisy computers,'silent' cooling solutions were sought everywhere and contributed to Zalman's rapid growth into the world's leader of high performance, ultra quiet PC cooling solutions. Zalman continues to lead in the industry through decisive R&D investments, peerless craftsmanship, intensive global marketing, and generous customer support. Business diversification with innovation such as 2D/3D Convertible LCD Monitors, Heatpipe Cooled Power Supplies, Notebook Coolers, Surround Sound & Dual Stereo Headphones and FPS GUN Gaming Interface holds true to Zalman's promise to provide 'Cool Innovations'.
The new CNPS9900 Max follows the same design as many previous Zalman CPU coolers such as the much successful CNPS9900 NT, CNPS9700 LED and CNPS9500 AM models. Of course Zalman has made several changes compared to the previous models, changes ranging from the design of the fins to the fan and the heatpipes, all in order to improve the performance of their latest model. However although they have succeeded in doing that the design of the CNPS9900 Max does have some drawbacks including the most important one which is that you can't use a second fan in Push And Pull Configuration for better performance.
