INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

    USB 3.0 devices are slowly gaining popularity as more motherboards and computers are coming equipped with compatible ports that can take advantage of the increased transfer speeds over USB 2.0.  While it’s not a technology that the majority of owners are using yet, as the technology improves and becomes more standard we will see more and more companies taking advantage.  One of the big drawbacks initially to adoption has been price.  Not only do users have to buy a compatible PCI-E card if they don’t want to buy a new motherboard, but even the devices have had a price premium that some are not willing to pay.
