INTRODUCTION

Monday is here and although that means work i happen to be very happy for 2 reasons. Now i can't really comment on the first reason because she will probably not like it much, but the second reason is that the Alien Trilogy has finally arrived in Blu-Ray at my doorstep. I know that these may sound as insufficient reasons for someone to be happy but i am somewhat weird. In any case i do recommend the Alien Saga in Blu-Ray since the picture quality is simply breathtaking, when compared to the normal DVD versions. Anyways todays review has a lot to do with Blu-Ray since it is about the newest Media Player by EGREAT, the S1A.

EGREAT was established in August 2006 and is based in China. They have spent much on the R&D department in a continuous pursuit of perfection in arts and crafts and that ensures that they get high quality and innovative products. Their current product line includes multi-media hard-disk players, HD network HDD Players, Network storage servers, digital photo frames, advertising machines, USB video creator, USB DVR surveillance system and company accessories. Having already reviewed most Multimedia Network Tanks from EGREAT we have quite a good idea of what kind of performance to expect from their high quality and feature rich solutions.

The new S1A features the latest Sigma Designs SMP8655 HD decoding chip which as we speak is on the top of the charts in terms of image and audio quality. However this is not the only thing that makes the S1A special, what makes it special is its really small size. Now i may like big Media Players myself but the S1A can also come quite handy if you treasure compatibility or if you just want to place it in a tight spot. Feature-wise the S1A supports Bittorent, Internet Radio, Youtube Online, FTP, SMP/NFS, BD Playback and support for just about every media file out there. So let's take a more in-depth look at the S1A and see if it really brings anything new on the table.
