INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     Having finally finished our SSD roundup we now find ourselves able to write and upload reviews for devices tested more than a month ago. Good or bad we sometimes (most people in similar positions) have to prioritize reviews based on unit type, number of participating companies and of course potential coverage or in other words based on the interest level by our readers. In any case the first of those reviews is about one of the latest RaptoxX products, the RT-600 ABP, a 600W power supply unit.

 

 

 

 

 

     RAPTOXX brand was launched in 2004 and represents products made by a professional company focusing on the development and manufacturing of power supply units, and cases for desktop PCs, game stations and workstations as well as Multimedia products. RAPTOXX recently expanded its product portfolio with the above mentioned multimedia products such as Headsets and Home Theatre Systems ( 5.1. ) and is planning on introducing even more products in that field. Most of the RAPTOXX Products are made for use in the private and business markets. The RAPTOXX products are sold through well-known distributors in Europe and Asia. With the power consumption of PC components increasing, we have met the need for this and developed an innovative and highly efficient line of power supplies. Increased efficiency means less energy is loss in form of heat. Instead of modifying existing designs, RAPTOXX has gone new paths to create the ultimate power supply for noise conscious users. Inspired by the AV Industry RAPTOXX’s line of power supplies and supporters set a new level of price, performance and efficiency.

 

 

 

 

 

     Naturally an unit like the RT-600 ABP is targeted towards casual gamers and generally people who want a medium power PSU for their system but that’s just about it since 600W are not near enough for enthusiasts and hardcore gamers with two or more high end graphics cards. Now almost a year ago on our test bench we had the RT-600 ABP-P again by RaptoxX and again a 600W unit which performed quite well. Now the main difference between these two units is that the RT-600 ABP can achieve efficiency levels up to 80%+ while the RT-600 ABP-P can achieve efficiency levels of 82%+. As for the rest well both units are non-modular and both units use the same 135mm fan, their design however is slightly different. So let’s move on and see how well the RT-600 ABP does in our tests.
