INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     Sequels are sometimes a dicey proposition.  Many people will always feel a special tie to the first item, whatever it may be, and tell you “you can’t outdo the original so don’t even try.”  Movies, albums, it’s all the same.  Cooler Master is looking to buck that trend when with their 690 II cases.  The Cooler Master 690 is a popular case with many enthusiasts because of its clean look, ease to work with, and affordable price.  Putting that label on a new release case definitely makes that case have to live up to the standards set by the original. There are two flavors of the Cooler Master 690 II mid-tower case available; the Basic, which we are looking at today, and the Advance, which adds a few extra features like a hot swappable SATA dock, SSD support, and an extra fan.  The Advance also comes with an extra $20 USD on the price tag as of this review, so that’s something to consider as well.  For now, we will attempt to answer the big question:  Is the sequel as good?  It’s time to find out…..
