INTRODUCTION

With 3/4 of the summer already behind us i find myself feeling both joy since i will not have all my AC units running all day long and sorrow because i will not be able to take my usual top down rides every day. Well like i always say we just can't have everything in life so we might as well settle with what we can. For the past months or so we have been quite busy with many roundups (some finished, some not) and so we have somewhat neglected updating our LGA1366 CPU Cooler database with new models. So in order to make up for that today we bring you the review of Thermalright’s latest CPU Cooler, the Venomous X.

Thermalright is an elite design house that manufactures cooling products for computer components for the best quality and performance your money can buy. In 2002, AMD released its first generation Thunderbird CPU and since then we have been there every step of the way to counter high voltage and high heat with innovative design and highly acclaimed cooling solutions not only for AMD but for Intel as well. One of early well known solutions was the SK-6. With many positive and rave reviews under its belt Thermalright bolted to the top as the heat sink manufacturer mostly preferred by Overclockers and enthusiasts around the World. To this day, innovation never left our vocabulary as we keep coming up with leading edge designs staying ahead of the competition.

Many of you will remember the TRUE120 CPU Cooler released by Thermalright a few years back and some of you will probably remember our rather recent review on its latest revision C. Well Thermalright decided on even improving the design but this time over it did not christen it as a revision but rather chose to give it a new name and what better name than the Venomous X. So the Venomous X includes quite a few design changes such as a pressure vault bracket system for better and more efficient mounting, bent winglet fin design for better airflow through the heatsink and a convex copper base design for the best possible heat efficiency between the CPU and the heatsink. How much did all these innovtions improve performance remains to be seen.
