     Far too many people consider fan controllers to be useless and quite pricey for their role in a computer system and i have to say that i was amongst these people a few years back mainly because i always like the fans in my system to not only run at full speed but also to be silent so you can understand that the presence of a fan controller was indeed meaningless for me. However i also discovered that aside allowing the user to increase or reduce the speed and thus also increase or reduce the noise level coming from the fans, a fan controller also adds in the overall looks of a case and i can find no better example for that than the NZXT Sentry LX fan controller.

     When i first learned of the Sentry LX back in late 2008 i thought it was a touch screen fan controller and who can blame me for thinking that since the unit comes with a large 5.25' LCD screen? In any case the Sentry LX was not a touch screen device and seeing that users where somewhat attracted to the touch screen concept they just released the Sentry LXE for which we will be releasing a review after it undergoes the same tests the LX did. The main features of the LX are its five temperature probes, auto or manual control of up to five fans and a temperature alarm.
