INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

    Right now half way across the globe Computex is in the spotlight not only because it is one of the 3 largest computer shows in the world in which just about every company in the market presents their new gadgets, accessories and PC hardware but also because it is right in the heart of Taiwan, Taipei. Unfortunately both because of a problem with my back and also because of excessive workload i was unable to attend and so i have to depend solely to what i see and hear from both the companies and people present in Computex. Nevertheless we do have many of the things unveiled/presented in Computex with us one of which is the Modu87+ power supply by Enermax, although it is a few months old.

 

 

 

 

 

 

    Enermax Technology Corporation was founded in Taiwan in 1990 and today is one of the leading manufacturers of PC components (power supplies, PC cases, cooling fans, keyboards, HDD enclosures and other peripherals). Since 2000 the head quarter is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Six subsidiaries and numerous affiliates around the world provide an excellent network for ODM/OEM and retail business. Enermax has subsidiaries in Germany, France, Italy, USA, Japan and China. Worldwide, over 600 employees work for Enermax. Since 2004, the Enermax Technology Corporation is listed at the Taiwanese stock exchange. Detailed technical knowledge and foresight played an essential role for the quick development of the Enermax brand. Prior to the establishment of their own business, the Enermax’ founders served in executive positions in IT industry. They have been well acquainted with the demands of ambitious, hardware enthusiastic customers and took the opportunity offered by the lack of premium-quality, high-performance and durable PC components at that time. Within a very short period of time, the Enermax brand became popular around the world. Enermax possesses two own factories and thereby guarantees product’s high quality and long lifetime. Own research and development departments assure steady advancement and innovative design of products.     The new MODU87+ power supply line represents the most efficient and state of the art line Enermax is currently producing with an 80Plus Gold certification, modular cabling and many innovations some of which surround their DHT-Topology allowing the Modu87+ to reach a whopping 93% of efficiency. Also their new line of fans named the Twister promises extremely low noise levels even at full load, something that i have heard a lot from many companies in the field, Enermax however as you will see later on was right on the spot with their claim. The Modu87+ line includes a wide range of units from 500 up to 900W of power and although i would really like to get my hands on the 900w version today with us we have the 700w variant, not that 700w of power is small.
