Active Ram Coolers Roundup
Cases and Cooling

Although some of the roundups we have and plan to deliver are the usual ones found around the web we have quite a few which have not been done before due to the nature of the products tested and the time required to gather them. You see while i was gathering samples for all the roundups we plan on delivering inside 2010 it hit me that we should do something that others have not and so i begun thinking of system components that have been left on the outside by most people in our field. I mean how many of you have thought of RAM cooling? True RAM cooling is not the primary concern of people especially since 90% of the RAM modules in the market come with good and large heatsinks but nevertheless as you can see later on RAM coolers do make a difference, not only in helping expand the life expectancy of RAM modules and allow you to further increase your memory speed but also to help reduce the temperature inside the chassis and in some cases even add to the overall look of the system. As always we will not be taking a look at each of the packages due to time limitations. So let’s take a quick look at the companies participating.
Founded in 2002, San Jose, California-based OCZ Technology Group, Inc. has built on its expertise in high-speed memory to become a dominant player in the manufacturing and distribution of solid state drives (SSDs), a disruptive, game-changing technology that is replacing traditional rotating magnetic hard disk drives (HDDs). SSDs are faster, more reliable, run cooler, and use significantly less power than the HDDs used in the majority of computers today. In addition to SSD technology, OCZ also offers high performance components for computing devices and systems, including enterprise class power management products as well leading edge computer gaming solutions.

Established in 1993, GeIL has soon become one of the most professional memory module manufactures in the industry. Since then GeIL has been concentrating in memory module design and manufacturing. As of today, our manufacturing facilities employ over 200 people and produce a wide variety of modules with distribution in over 50 countries worldwide. GeIL’s Global Headquarter resides in the heart of computer technology – Taipei with branches spreading over in Hong Kong, China and U.S.A. GeIL understand in order to succeed in the DRAM industry, IC testing and sorting is one of the keys. 100% designed and made by GeIL's strategic R&D for production technology, the EVO III Fully Automatic IC Tester was born in 2006 to maximize the quality and performance of each IC used for GeIL memory module. GeIL’s effort in further enhancing the reliability of memory products was realized with the Die-hard Burn-in Technology (DBT) introduced in 2008. The dynamic and efficient testing nature of the DBT Chamber is allowing such burn-in technology to be used on every GeIL memory module to ensure the highest possible reliability for user of all levels. This is just the beginning.
