INTRODUCTION

2009 has clearly been one of the best years for CPU Cooler manufacturers since both the new LGA1156 and AM3 along with the rather new LGA1366 sockets have opened a very big market share and because of that it is quite normal that we have had CPU Coolers coming in almost on a daily basis from companies all around the globe. To be completely honest with you for a moment i thought of rounding up all of them and making a single huge review in order to save time but as most of you already know i mostly do single ones so i can give the best and most thorough result. In any case a few months ago on our test bed we had the latest Thermalright offering which although is sold under another brand name ( Cocage ) it offered similar and in some occasions better performance than the award winning Thermalright ULTRA 120 Extreme. Today however we have the 3rd Revision of the Ultra 120 Extreme sporting new features and promising even better cooling results.

Thermalright is an elite design house that manufactures cooling products for computer components for the best quality and performance your money can buy. In 2002, AMD released its first generation Thunderbird CPU and since then we have been there every step of the way to counter high voltage and high heat with innovative design and highly acclaimed cooling solutions not only for AMD but for Intel as well. One of early well known solutions was the SK-6. With many positive and rave reviews under its belt Thermalright bolted to the top as the heat sink manufacturer mostly preferred by Overclockers and enthusiasts around the World. To this day, innovation never left our vocabulary as we keep coming up with leading edge designs staying ahead of the competition.

Although it seems a bit strange to me that Thermalright decided on re-releasing their old design with just a few modifications it does make sense since the TRUE120X is still considered one of the best Air Coolers out there so with a few modifications/improvements Thermalright made it even better making if not the best Air Cooler out there certainly amongst the top ones. However since from theory to result there is a quite a big gap let's move to the main body of this worldwide first review and find out if the modifications/improvements on the TRUE120X Revision C really do make a difference.
