INTRODUCTION

Although April is long gone still there are some LGA1366 CPU coolers that we did not bring to you in time and so i will do so whenever possible. For the past 6 months we have seen many new, innovative and huge CPU Coolers from a long list of manufacturers and as performance goes some of them have even managed to get really close to the kind of performance we usually see only with water cooling CPU solutions. Today we have yet another monster size CPU cooler, this time made by Scythe, the Mugen 2 which needs to perform really great if it wants to live up to the name and the road paved by its predecessor, the original Mugen CPU Cooler that was introduced by Scythe a long time ago.

Scythe is one of the most known companies in the PC industry mainly because they have been making some of the best coolers around for many many years. From the Scythe Ninja to the Scythe Infinity and Mugen, there is a Scythe cooling solution virtually for every possible need a user may have. It is no coincidence that the Scythe name has been synonym to the CPU cooling for a long time.

Mugen is a Japanese word that means dream, fantasy or infinite and with that Scythe tried to describe the level of performance users should expect from the original Mugen and now the Mugen 2. Just like the first Mugen ( which was launched as Infinity in some countries ) the second version is a tower design CPU Cooler with many new additions to the older model, on another thought the design is virtually made from the ground up so it has no resemblance to the original unit except the tower design type. Performance wise people place it amongst the best CPU coolers on the market as we speak and so we are really curious about how well it can perform on a real i7 system.
