INTRODUCTION

Unlike the 90s which were filled with flight and space simulators only a handful of simulator games have appeared in the first 9 years of 2k like IL2 Sturmovik and the Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Back in the 90's space and flight simulators all together were a way for companies to demonstrate new technologies and graphic breakthroughs and no better example exists than the legendary Tie Fighter by Lucas Arts, the Wing Commander 3 The Heart Of The Tiger, Wing Commander 4 The Price Of Freedom by the great Origin, Freespace by Volition and of course ATF and Israeli Air Force by Janes. Still more than a decade later games like these are no longer made. But what happens to people who just like to play old flight simulators like the IL2 Sturmovik and new arcade flight simulators like HAWX ?
Saitek designs and manufactures consumer electronics products which work together to improve the user’s multimedia, gaming and communications experiences. Constant innovation, superior technology and a high degree of functionality make Saitek products the choice of computer users around the world. The Saitek product range today includes mice, keyboards, headsets, PC gaming controllers, as well as other PC peripherals. The latest addition is a new family of innovative and practical audio products designed to improve users’ digital entertainment experiences. Saitek and Cyborg are registered trademarks of Saitek and its affiliated companies. In November 2007, Saitek was acquired by Mad Catz Interactive, Inc., a publicly-listed, leading global provider of interactive entertainment peripherals.
Although the Saitek X52 has been around for almost a full 4 years it is still considered to be one of the best flight sim controllers in the market which is quite natural considering the wealth of features that it is packing. The most important feature however of the X52 is its throttle which also features an 8 way hat switch and 2 rotary controls targeted specifically to simulator fans. Of course for the flight simulator enthusiast who wants something more to have the edge in games Saitek also makes the X52pro which comes with quite a few additions to the X52 and a whole different design.
