Since the launch of the latest Intel Core i7 processor there has been an increased demand for more variety in motherboards and so many companies answered that call with the launch of several different models in their ranks while others at the same time have chose the easier path by launching a single model to fill their LGA1366 line. This enthusiastic welcome by most companies is mainly due to the fact that unlike all previous Intel chipsets that only came with ATI Crossfire support the X58 chipset can support both Nvidia’s SLI and ATI’s Crossfire and so for the first time in history Nvidia SLI users can own an Intel based mainboard and that alone should be enough to skyrocket mainboard sales based on it.

Unlike the GA-EX58-DS4 which we had the chance to review a while back the GA-EX58-UD4P supports both SLI and CF and that makes it a much better candidate for Nvidia users who own or think about getting a second card to use in SLI. That aside the UD4P sports more options inside the BIOS while on the outside it is virtually the same with the blue gunmetal color throughout the board. Of course for the most demanding of users Gigabyte also has the GA-EX58-EXTREME which sports more options and features for the best possible overclocking experience.
