INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

              A few weeks ago i promised everyone that aside the usual traffic of monster wattage power supplies reviews here in Real World Labs we would also be taking a look into lower entry level models in the market. This is done to cover just about every buyer out there and not just the enthusiasts, of course that does not mean that we will be doing reviews for the worst available power supplies in the market mainly because we believe in offering reviews of high quality units to our readers. The unit at hand today is made by RaptoxX a company based in Germany that has quite a history in the power supply manufacturing field with products targeted towards the entire price and performance range in the market.

 

 

           RAPTOXX brand was launched in 2004 and represents products made by a professional company focusing on the development and manufacturing of power supply units, and cases for desktop PCs, game stations and workstations as well as Multimedia products. RAPTOXX recently expanded its product portfolio with the above mentioned multimedia products such as Headsets and Home Theatre Systems ( 5.1. ) and is planning on introducing even more products in that field. Most of the RAPTOXX Products are made for use in the private and business markets. The RAPTOXX products are sold through well-known distributors in Europe and Asia. With the power consumption of PC components increasing, we have met the need for this and developed an innovative and highly efficient line of power supplies. Increased efficiency means less energy is loss in form of heat. Instead of modifying existing designs, RAPTOXX has gone new paths to create the ultimate power supply for noise conscious users. Inspired by the AV Industry RAPTOXX’s line of power supplies and supporters set a new level of price, performance and efficiency.  

 

 

          Our first test unit by RaptoxX is the RT-600 ABP-P, a 600W unit with an efficiency factor of 82%. This model is an improved version of the RT-600 ABP which comes with the same 600W output but with a smaller efficiency factor. All that aside at first glance the RaptoxX offering seems like a quality built unit which also looks great i might add. Still we are here to check its performance and not appearances so let's head over to the review.
