With the continuous price drops in Hard Disk Drives people have found their selves owning more than one, some of us even count ten of them or more. Of course the main reason behind owning a large number of Hard Disk Drives is for backup purposes. It is true that in the old days backup was done using a blank optical disk but in our days with the vast amount of data that people need to have into a backup and the incredible Hard Disk Drive price drops this has changed. So in order to make life easier for all of us who use Hard Disk Drives to backup and move data around between computers companies have produced a variant of the all known to us external HDD enclosure named the docking station. Docking Station devices allow people to swap Hard Disk Drives in a matter of seconds while at the same time they provide space for both 3.5' and 2.5' HDD. The docking station that we have with us today is made by Sharkoon, a company well known for their cost-effective and quality solutions.
Sharkoon was established in Germany back in 2002 and has shown consistent growth and set itself apart through steadily increasing sales. Since then they have formed a worldwide distribution network spanning in more than 30 countries including Taiwan in which they have also established a foreign office. Sharkoon offers a portfolio of unrivalled products for all areas of the PC with a continuously expanding selection of products in order to target the largest possible group of customers. Their goal is the continued growth and expansion of their expertise, to be demonstrated in the establishment and development of successful and sustainable business relationships with their customers and partners. A few of their biggest strengths are their flexibility and rapid response capabilities and the ability to react to future market and technology trends.
The docking station by Sharkoon which we have here with us today is the SATA Quickdeck, quite a pretty device that also has the addition of a cover which you can close so your HDD is protected by dust and various accidents. Connection wise you can use it either by plugging it into your USB port or into your eSATA port if your motherboard has one. As for connectivity you can use 3.5' or 2'5 SATA Hard Disk Drives with it.
