OCZ VERTEX 3 MAX IOPS 240GB
The Vertex 3 MAX Iops edition is currently the fastest consumer oriented SSD in the entire OCZ lineup and without doubt amongst the fastest SSDs in the market currently.
Inside the box you will find the drive, 3.5" adapter, mounting screws, installation guide and warranty info booklet and a rather funny yet quite true case sticker.
OCZ didn't really try to make a fancy drive so the Vertex 3 MAX Iops edition is plain black.
The large sticker at the front indicates the size of the drive, model name and both the OCZ logo and URL.
A second sticker placed at the rear of the drive informs you yet again about the drive model, drive capacity, electrical specifications and serial number. It also has several certification logos on it and warns you not to drop or press the drive.
At the far end of the drive we see the SATA III connectors and a small opening at the left.
Just like OWC OCZ also has their logo imprinted on the PCB.
However OCZ is using the same SandForce SF-2281 controller as Corsair and most manufacturers. Once again this controller features improved DuraClass technology and TRIM support.
Much like the Mercury Extreme Pro 6G the Vertex 3 MAX Iops edition uses a total of 16 Toshiba TH58TAG7D2FBAS9 32nm toggle NAND ICs, each 16GB in size.
