INTEL 510 250GB
The 510 series by Intel is currently their flagship line when it comes to consumer SSD products.
Inside the retail box you will find the 510 SSD, 3.5" adapter kit, SATA cable, 4pin Molex to SATA power cable, user’s manual, mounting screws and a mini CD with the migration software.
The 510 line feels more simple but yet more elegant than the 320 line thanks to its gold color. Still we also see a very large sticker at the front of the drive with the Intel logo on it.
The sticker once again informs you the units model, capacity, factory loaded firmware version, serial number, SATA connectivity (6Gb/s) and more.
Thanks to an entirely new casing there are no quality issues with the 510 line.
Intel has used SATA III connectivity with their latest 510 line.
Opening the chassis was just as easy and as you can see the interior is completely different compared to the 320.
For the 510 line Intel opted for the latest Marvell 88SS9174 6Gb/s controller which is also used in other drives like the Corsair P3 and the Crucial C400. Of course Intel is solely responsible for the firmware of the 510 line.
The 510 250GB model features a total of 16 Intel 34nm NAND chips each 16GB in size.
