INTRODUCTION

It is no secret that the power supply is the heart of a computer system and it is also no secret that the sub-1KW PSU market has flooded with solutions by countless companies ranging from cheap sub 50$ up to expensive high quality solutions that can even reach the 500$ price barrier. This results to a great number of users getting the less expensive solutions and so endangering their entire systems in the process.

In the PC hardware market there are only a few companies that really need to introductions and have associated their name with high quality and performance. Antec is one of these companies since it is a brand name respected by enthusiasts originally for their impressive and innovative PC cases and later on because of their high quality and performance power supply units. Antec was  founded in 1986 and is recognized as a pioneer in the Do-It-Yourself ( DIY ) market. Their line of power supplies has been produced by many different companies thru out the years such as HEC, CWT, FSP, Enhance, Seasonic and Delta. Of course specs wise the solutions provided in retail by these companies do not match the power supplies found in the Antec arsenal.

Today i have the pleasure of reviewing the latest and best in Antec’s power supply line the Signature 850w. This is a unit of the highest available quality that features true wattage ratings along with the best possible components made in Japan.  This line of power supplies also offers modular cables, SLi Certification, 80Plus Bronze certification and a Antec factory test report, certified with an official signature. The factory responsible for the Signature power supply line is owned by the Delta Group a very old manufacturer that was founded in 1971 and is known for their high quality server system power supplies.
