INTRODUCTION

We are hardly counting 3 months (unless something changes once again) before we finally switch from our Intel X58 based testing rigs to the latest Intel X79 ones so our already long LGA1366 based CPU Cooler Database still has some way to go. So today we will be taking a thorough look at one of the latest LGA1366 compatible CPU Air Cooler to hit the market manufactured by a company known mostly for their excellent power supplies, Enermax.
Enermax Technology Corporation was founded in Taiwan in 1990 and today is one of the leading manufacturers of PC components (power supplies, PC cases, cooling fans, keyboards, HDD enclosures and other peripherals). Since 2000 the head quarter is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Six subsidiaries and numerous affiliates around the world provide an excellent network for ODM/OEM and retail business. Enermax has subsidiaries in Germany, France, Italy, USA, Japan and China. Worldwide, over 600 employees work for Enermax. Since 2004, the Enermax Technology Corporation is listed at the Taiwanese stock exchange. Detailed technical knowledge and foresight played an essential role for the quick development of the Enermax brand. Prior to the establishment of their own business, the Enermax’ founders served in executive positions in IT industry. They have been well acquainted with the demands of ambitious, hardware enthusiastic customers and took the opportunity offered by the lack of premium-quality, high-performance and durable PC components at that time. Within a very short period of time, the Enermax brand became popular around the world. Enermax possesses two own factories and thereby guarantees product’s high quality and long lifetime. Own research and development departments assure steady advancement and innovative design of products. Over the last decades, their innovations and technologies continuously defined new standards for the market.
This is the first time i have had the chance to test an Enermax CPU Cooler (since they actually just started making them) and i have to say that i never did expect them to take that route, although they have been making case fans for quite a long time now. Of course it's not really hard for any company in the field to start producing their own CPU Air Cooler (whether it is produced in their own factory line or it's made by another company for them) and that's mainly why we see more and more such products every day, most of which produce not so good results. Luckily however as you will see later on this is not the case with the ETS-T40-TA by Enermax which we have here with us today. Worth mentioning is that Enermax also manufactures two more CPU Coolers in the ETS-T40 line, the TB version without a LED fan and the VD version with blue/red LED fan so you can pick what's best for you.
