INTRODUCTION

Almost a week ago we started talking about DVB-T channels and ways for you to enjoy them by reviewing both an DTV Antenna and an DVB-T USB Tuner by Elgato. Certainly we have reviewed similar solutions in the past but this time over with more and more companies releasing DVB-T related products things are really starting to heat up and todays review is more than proof to that. So today we will be taking a look at the first DVB-T2, MPEG4/H.264 compatible USB Receiver to hit the market by PCTV Systems (Brother Company To Pinnacle) called the nanoStick T2.

In 1995, development of TV tuner products for the PC started with miro Computer Products AG in Braunschweig. This was the major kick-off for a successful business that evolved over more than 15 years. The PCTV Systems brand stands for high quality and innovative products in the TV Viewing and Digital home marketplace. The portfolio covers external (USB) and internal (PCI) TV tuner products for analog and digital TV reception on PC and MAC. Product development and quality management is driven by the product development group located in Braunschweig, Germany. One major goal for the company is to develop well designed hardware and software solutions which enable customers to use the products without a deep knowledge of technologies. We are dedicated to satisfy our users with state of the art solutions.

Since PCTV Systems is brother company to the well-known Pinnacle you more or less know what to expect from such device and although sometimes we expect more and get less this time over the nanoStick T2 did deliver everything promised and then some since it's the first USB receiver I’ve used which actually supports the latest MPEG4/H.264 broadcast system. On the downside i found out the hard way that it doesn't work very well with interior Antennas where i live (not as well as the Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe TV Tuner Micro-Stick) but that's perhaps the last thing to look at since such things have to do with the current location amongst other things.
