INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    One of the few things i have a problem with when i leave home to go on vacation is that i can't actually get clear reception to watch my favorite DVB-T channel. I have tried quite a few antennas in my life but aside the fact that most of them were quite large and somewhat heavy (to carry around) they didn't produce the expected result. Of course the places i go when on vacation are not the easiest ones so it's understandable that it's not easy to get a crystal clear image but still there's always room for improvement. Now as many of you know i took a short 3-day vacation a few days ago during which i used quite a few new products including two DVB-T USB TV-Tuners (reviews soon) and the AV80 Deluxe Hi-Gain DTV Antenna by AverMedia.

    To be completely honest with you all the AV80 Deluxe Hi-Gain DTV Antenna arrived out of the blue since i didn't even know it existed (can't keep up with every single product released by every single company we cooperate with) but after having used it for over 6 days with two different DVB-T USB TV-Tuners i am very glad that AverMedia decided on sending it over to us. Overall the AV80 produced very good image quality even while i was away on vacation and not anyplace near the capital. As expected it did not manage to compete with a full-sized antenna but that's not why such solutions exist in the first place. Such solutions are available to make life easier for people on the go by combining small size, good reception, good image quality and cost-effective prices.
