INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    Since USB 3.0 is becoming more mainstream day by day it's quite natural not only to see good price cuts on such devices but also more people choosing them over USB 2.0 and/or eSATA ones. Of course USB 3.0 is still quite rough around the edges when it comes to 2.5" external HDDs (power issues) but thankfully the same doesn't apply for USB flash drives. Today we will be taking a closer look at one of the latest and fastest USB 3.0 Flash drive in the market made by Patriot Memory, the Supersonic Quad Channel 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive.

    The Supersonic USB 3.0 flash drive may not be the fastest one in the Patriot Memory line since they also make the blazing amazing Supersonic Magnum (review soon) but regardless of that it's very fast and surprisingly smaller than similar drives such as the Kingston DT Ultimate G2 we had with us a while back. Of course as expected since this is not the ultra-high end unit by Patriot it's slightly slower than the Kingston DT Ultimate G2 but on the other hand unlike the Kingston solution the Supersonic drive gets somewhat hot during use (full aluminum housing), however that's something that happens a lot with most aluminum USB flash drives. Since however numbers are what matters the most let's move forward to the rest of the review and see what the Supersonic is capable of.
