THE MEKA G1 MECHANICAL GAMING KEYBOARD

Much like the 7G by SteelSeries the MEKA G1 by TteSports is a very high quality keyboard without the bells and whistles found in other more gaming oriented keyboards such as the G19 by Logitech. Without the handrest the unit measures 441mm in length, 152mm in width and 35mm in height (highest point).

The TteSports logo is placed right next to the three usual Num/Caps/Scroll lock indicator LEDs.

7 Multimedia keys are present at the far left which act as secondary function of the F1–F7 keys.

Just like the 7G the MEKA G1 features Black MX Cherry switches which have a lifespan of well over 50.000.000 keystrokes.

Two USB 2.0 ports and the usual headphones/microphone mini jacks are placed at the right front.

With the handrest attached the MEKA G1 now measures 491mm in length.

The upper side of the provided handrest measures just 55mm and although it should be sufficient for most people it's perhaps the only real drawback compared to the 7G since my hands liked the handrest found on the 7G a lot more.

The TteSports logo is also present on the handrest.

TteSports claim that they ship the MEKA G1 with a military grade cable and they are not kidding since this is by far the thickest cable i have ever seen with a keyboard.

Just like the 7G the MEKA G1 comes with gold plated connectors, however unlike the first this unit comes with 2 USB connectors (that's why it comes with an USB to PS2 adapter).

Turning the unit over we see 2 height adjusters, 4 large rubber feet on the main body and 4 smaller ones on the handrest.

The handrest attaches to the unit with the usual clips and that means that you should be quite careful since it's not very hard for them to break.

Now i did say that the specifications of both the 7G and the MEKA G1 are the same but both their design and size are not the same as you can see from the above pictures. Of course that is not 100% conclusive but it's almost certain that these units are not manufactured by the same company.

Worth noticing is the size difference between the 7G cable and the MEKA G1 cable.
