INTRODUCTION

With all the latest 80 Plus Platinum and Gold certified power supplies introduced during this year’s Computex we really forgot that there are also more "mainstream" solutions in the market and so today we will be taking a look at a familiar product from Antec. A few months back we had the chance to test the High Current Gamer 900W variant which proved to be a very nice alternative for people who simply can't afford the ultra-high end High Current Pro series and today we will be taking a look at the smaller 620W variant.

According to the official specifications the High Current Gamer 620w is an 80 Plus Bronze certified power supply (up to 88% efficiency) which can supply up to 620w of continuous power, has a single +12V rail with OCP protection and features All Japanese brand capacitors. Overall the unit has exactly what everyone expects from an Antec unit including their "entry level" models so all that's left now is to see how well it does in real life usage.
