With less than a day before NVIDIA Officially launches their latest mGPU graphics accelerator the GeForce GTX 590 many of you are already out in the market searching for a new power supply unit capable of feeding clean and stable power to that monster while others wait to see its exact power requirements. Of course that alone is reason enough for us to bring you yet another review of such a high end unit and so with us today we have the latest Enermax power supply unit the Revolution 85+ 1020W.

Enermax Technology Corporation was founded in Taiwan in 1990 and today is one of the leading manufacturers of PC components (power supplies, PC cases, cooling fans, keyboards, HDD enclosures and other peripherals). Since 2000 the head quarter is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Six subsidiaries and numerous affiliates around the world provide an excellent network for ODM/OEM and retail business. Enermax has subsidiaries in Germany, France, Italy, USA, Japan and China. Worldwide, over 600 employees work for Enermax. Since 2004, the Enermax Technology Corporation is listed at the Taiwanese stock exchange. Detailed technical knowledge and foresight played an essential role for the quick development of the Enermax brand. Prior to the establishment of their own business, the Enermax’ founders served in executive positions in IT industry. They have been well acquainted with the demands of ambitious, hardware enthusiastic customers and took the opportunity offered by the lack of premium-quality, high-performance and durable PC components at that time. Within a very short period of time, the Enermax brand became popular around the world. Enermax possesses two own factories and thereby guarantees product’s high quality and long lifetime. Own research and development departments assure steady advancement and innovative design of products. Over the last decades, their innovations and technologies continuously defined new standards for the market.

Although we reviewed the Revolution 85+ 1250W almost two years ago the 1020W variant was released a few months back along with the 920W variant and so i was very curious as to what has changed since, if anything at all. That aside the 1020W variant features the same 80Plus Silver certification, same future-proof features, protections, even the design is the same (all these are good btw). The only two things that have changed when compared to the previous Revolution 85+ versions (at first glance at least) are the cooling fans used (twister) and their prices since the new versions are somewhat cheaper than the old ones (1050>1020). All that remains to be seen is whether or not the new versions are as good as the previous ones, performance wise that is.
