INTRODUCTION

For the past few months i have received many emails by some of you asking about why we rarely perform reviews around HTPC targeted CPU Coolers. The answer is quite simple and so the reason we rarely do HTPC targeted CPU Cooler reviews is because quite frankly there aren't that many solutions of the kind in the market to begin with and we have already reviewed most of them. Still today we bring you yet another such review, this time of a product made by Alpenfoehn, the Panorama.
Alpenfoehn is a yet well-respected German based company founded back in 2001 and is focused ever in manufacturing efficient cooling solutions for PC systems. The company got its rather strange, yet ideal name for their field from a specific type of extremely cold wind in the Alps mountain range called Alpenfoehn.
The Alpenfoehn Panorama is a very small, easy to install cost effective CPU Cooler which is not really ment for people who like to overclock their systems although usually HTPC users don't really go to such lengths. With this in mind you should take into consideration that our test rig features an overclocked Intel Core i7 CPU which is too much for any HTPC Cooler (it's even too much for many High-End ones) so expect much better results if you have an normal HTPC system. Of course there are some HTPC cases which can easily fit a large CPU Cooler in which case just to be on the safe side i recommend going for such a solution instead.
