INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

    This is it people, finally our last review for 2010 is here which means that i can get some rest now. Anyways the choice for last review was difficult since we had to choose between doing one of the popular P67 previews we have been seeing lately, a case review, an enterprise SAS/SATA HDD review or a CPU Cooler review. Doing a preview of a mainboard which we will also review fully in one month or so did not seem like the right thing to do while a doing a case review or an enterprise SAS/SATA review would take time and perhaps we wouldn't be able to upload prior to the 1st of January so we decided on doing a CPU Cooler review and who knows perhaps a second CPU Cooler review will be also possible on the 31st, nothing certain however. So the unit here with us is called the Vapor 120 and is made by Zaward a company rather new to us.

 

 

 

    Zaward Corporation was founded in 1996 as the sole worldwide agent of Globefan Technology Co., Ltd., one of the leading manufacturers of DC fans that established since 1986 in Taiwan to provide major personal computer power supply companies with the best quality products. For the efforts over the decade, the company has built her reliable reputation and gained clients' trust on her high standard of engineering and well-developed quality control system. As the company grew, it put together the thermal solution R&D team and started work on big OEM projects mainly from German and Japanese electrical companies. With full support from Globefan, the company has consistently met the strict demands of its customers. While technology is progressing rapidly, reduction in costs is always called for. Due to market changes, the company has decided to promote their own products. In year 2005, Zaward & Globefan setup the new R&D center thermal solution lab in Taipei, Taiwan for OEM customized project and for its own product development. At the same time, the new noise lab and wind tunnel have installed in China factory to fulfill our research and development for high technology, more advanced products. Meanwhile to have the complete test equipment for more strict quality control and application purpose.

 

 

 

    Zaward may be new to us but as you can read above they are a subsidiary of Globefan which supplies many of the known power supply manufacturers around the world and it so happens that we have seen quite a large number of their fans used in several power supply units. Now when it comes to the Vapor 120 what is really interesting is its size since although it is a tower type CPU Cooler it also happens to be one of the slimmest units we have ever seen so initially we all thought was that it would not produce acceptable cooling numbers. However as you will see later on it did quite well in all of our tests considering of course both its size and price tag.
